Vintage linen including a set of 6 damask napkins embroidered with red flowers These were a wedding gift from the Bishop of Alabama Charles Colcock Jones Carpenter (1899-1969) and come with a letter of provenance and name cards signed by the Bishop and with a doodle of a clerical man. Charles Carpenter was one of the authors of the"A Call for Unity" letter published during Martin Luther King's incarceration in a Birmingham Alabama jail. Lot also includes a crocheted tablecloth and 3 embroidered linen tablecloths
